Xooloo Digital Coach app for iPhone and iPad

Digital Coach was designed to help pre-teens and teens develop responsible digital habits with their smartphone and app usage on their own, allowing kids a sense of autonomy in making healthy choices about how they spend their time connected.

Unlike other platforms, iOS sadly will not let us track 3rd party app usage times. Yes, we know it’s a big disappointment but believe us, it’s not that we’ve been untruthful, it’s simply something we are not allowed to do for now.

However once the app has been installed you’ll be able to remotely:
. list which apps have been installed from the App store by your child
. set the maximum age rating for apps. Apps which do not meet the limit will be hidden if already installed or won’t show on the App store
. enable Web protection from inappropriate content when your child is browsing the Internet, regardless of the connection used: 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi. Three modes are available:
- Disabled: no protection
- Teen: most sites remain accessible but inappropriate content is blocked (entire site, page or part of a page depending on the site). This is the mode we recommend using.
- Child: only sites from our children portal remain accessible. Warning: many apps may no longer work with this mode as they won’t be able to connect anymore
. define the time slots when Internet is available (NEW)
. ability for parents to send a message to the child giving him a minute to finish off before Internet is blocked for a set duration, to enjoy a family dinner together for instance! (NEW)

When your child enables the Digital Coach widget on the left-most panel of the home screen, the latest rules are just a glance away.

You can still focus on the spirit of Digital Coach by talking with your kids about how to be a good digital citizen and the importance of using connected tech responsibly.
